


| Dara E. Friedman represents clients in state and federal court litigation as well as administrative proceedings, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Illinois Department of Human Rights. Ms. Friedman works alongside the firm’s partners to ensure that each client’s interests are served throughout the litigation process. From a very young age, Ms. Friedman knew she wanted to be a civil rights attorney. She is most passionate about prosecuting disability and age discrimination claims, with an interest in serving society’s most vulnerable populations- the young, the elderly, and the disenfranchised. Ms. Friedman has represented adults and minors as Guardian ad litem in Probate court in Cook County. She also has served as a volunteer mediator in the Justice Courts of Maricopa County, Arizona, providing more party-focused and alternative means of settling lawsuits. She received a B.A. in Sociology with departmental distinction from the University of Illinois- Urbana Champaign. Upon graduation, she moved to Arizona to pursue a legal education at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. Receiving a Dean’ s Award for her commitment to public service, she graduated with highest pro bono distinction, contributing over 500 hours of pro bono service to low-income communities in Phoenix and Chicago. She also received two public interest fellowships from Arizona State University and an AmeriCorps/Equal Justice Works summer fellowship. Ms. Friedman has also worked at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission assisting on sexual harassment, disability, and race discrimination class action lawsuits. She also provided support on various discovery and pre-trial matters while at the EEOC. Ms. Friedman was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Since returning to Illinois, she has become active in fundraising activities for Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, participating or volunteering in the Race Judicata 5k run/walk for the last three years. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the National Employment Lawyers Association. She is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. |
